After qualifying as a teacher I have spent a number of years working with many learners with Special Educational Needs and Specific Learning Difficulties. I have experience teaching KS1-KS4 learners and adult learners in a private setting. I decided to train as a specialist SpLD teacher and assessor to provide a high quality, professional yet friendly service to both parents and education providers.
My approach to teaching, learning and assessing is holistic and student centred.
As a Dyslexia Specialist Assessor I assess and diagnose Dyslexia both in children and adults, as well as supporting dyslexic learners through one-one tuition using multisensory teaching methods. I also conduct assessments for Access Arrangements and Disabled Student Allowance.
I receive referrals from primary and secondary schools, further and higher education establishments, work place referrals and private referrals.
For private clients, assessments and tuition take place in my office in the centre of Ormskirk, where there is a designated waiting room for parents/ others accompanying. In extenuating circumstances, assessments can be carried out in the student’s home. Please get in touch to discuss this further.
